Simulating Fluidized Beds Using CFD-DEM Coupling
Fluidized beds are used in process industries such as pharmaceutical, food processing, and chemical industries for applications like powder mixing, coating, heating, and drying. Fluidization is a complex process and depends on various parameters such as powder properties, bed design, and operating conditions to name a few. CFD-DEM simulations have proven themselves to be a cost and time-effective approach to understand the effect of these parameters on the performance of fluidized beds. In this webinar, we will look at how AcuSolve-EDEM coupling can be applied to fluidized beds and investigate the effects of some design changes and operating conditions.
